Configure the building blocks of your dairy – collection routes, animal breeds, medicines, product categories, and storage locations.
Overview
Configuration is where managers set up master data used across the entire app. This includes collection routes for milk vans, animal breed lists, medicine catalog, product categories, storage locations, and sample data import.
Most of these are set once during initial setup and updated occasionally.
How It Works
Go to Dairy → Configuration (visible to Dairy Managers only). Available setup items:
- Import sample data – Load demo records to explore the app
- Animal Breeds – Gir, Sahiwal, Murrah, etc.
- Collection Routes – Group farmers by van route
- Medicines Master – Vet medicines with withdrawal periods
- Product Categories – Milk, Curd, Ghee, etc.
- Storage Locations – Cold rooms, chilling vats, dispatch areas
Step-by-Step Guide
- Go to Dairy → Configuration → Collection Routes and create routes for your milk vans.
- Set up Animal Breeds with animal type and average yield.
- Add Medicines with default doses and withdrawal periods.
- Create Storage Locations for each cold room and dispatch area.
- Assign routes to farmers and locations to processing batches.

Avg Daily Yield (L)
Typical milk yield for this breed. For example: 12 L.
Medicine Name
Veterinary medicine name. For example: Enrofloxacin.
Default Withdrawal Period
Days milk must be discarded after use. For example: 7 days.
Location Name
Storage area name. For example: Cold Room 1.
Location Type
Cold Room, Chilling Vat, Processing, Dispatch, etc. For example: Cold Room.

Tips
- Import sample data first: Use Configuration → Import sample data to see a working example before entering your own data.
- Set withdrawal periods on medicines: When vets select medicines in health records, withdrawal days auto-fill from the master.
Common Mistakes
- Duplicate route or breed names – Names must be unique.
- Missing storage locations – Processing batches and stock moves need locations for tracking.
