Turn raw collected milk into packaged products — track inputs, processing steps, outputs, yield, and costs per batch.
Overview
Processing Batches are the core of your production floor. Each batch records raw milk inputs (linked to collection entries for traceability), processing type (pasteurization, homogenization, churning, etc.), finished goods output, wastage, quality check, and total cost.
When a batch passes QC and is marked Done, stock is automatically added to inventory.
How It Works
- Go to Dairy → Processing → Processing Batches. Workflow: Draft → In Progress → Processed → Packaged → QC Passed → Done.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Click Create and set Processing Date, Product Being Made, and Process Type.
- Add Raw Milk Inputs — link to collection entries or enter farmer, quantity, fat, SNF manually.
- Click Start Processing when production begins.
- Enter process parameters: temperature, duration, pressure.
- Add Finished Goods Output lines with quantity, lot number, and packaging.
- Record any Wastage and click through to QC Pass then Done.

Tips
- Link raw inputs to collection entries: This gives full traceability — know exactly which farmer’s milk went into which batch.
- Only Done batches add stock: Stock is created automatically only when batch reaches Done after QC Pass.
Common Mistakes
- Skipping QC step — Batch must pass QC before stock is added.
- Wastage exceeding input — System prevents wastage greater than total raw milk.
