Overview
The Dashboard is the first screen you should open each day. It gives you a live snapshot of your dairy operation without opening multiple menus.
You will see key numbers (KPIs) at the top, charts showing the last 7 days of milk collection, quality grade breakdown, animal status, shift-wise milk (morning vs evening), and alerts for near-expiry products and overdue vaccinations.
How It Works
Go to Dairy → Dashboard. The screen loads automatically with today’s data.
- Milk KPIs show total litres collected today and compare with yesterday.
- Quality section shows pass/fail counts and average fat and SNF percentages.
- Herd section shows active animals, pregnant cows, and animals under treatment.
- Processing shows batches running today and volume processed.
- Stock alerts highlight products expiring within 3 days.
- Click any shortcut button to jump directly to Milk Collection, Quality Tests, Animals, or Processing.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Open Odoo and click Dairy in the main menu.
- Click Dashboard (first item).
- Review the top KPI cards – milk today, quality pass %, active farmers, active animals.
- Scroll down to see the 7-day milk trend chart and quality grade donut.
- Check the alerts section for vaccinations due and products near expiry.
- Use shortcut buttons to go directly to the area that needs your attention.

Tips
- Check the dashboard before the evening shift: Compare morning vs evening totals to spot farmers who missed the morning collection.
- Red alerts need action today: Overdue vaccinations and near-expiry stock should be handled the same day they appear.
Common Mistakes
- Ignoring pending quality tests – Pending tests lower your quality pass rate and may block payment to farmers.
- Not refreshing – If you keep the dashboard open all day, reload the page after major data entry to see updated numbers.
