Overview
Why it matters: A default dashboard may be noisy or miss what your organisation cares about. Admins need a place to turn widgets on or off, reorder them, and set who sees which blocks—without custom development for every layout change.
What this covers: Advance HR → Configuration → Dashboard Widget Visibility lists each widget row with sequence (order), widget type, colour, label, optional group or employee filter, duration (e.g. this month), and column width on the responsive grid.
The Create Multiple Widgets wizard speeds up first-time setup; see the next section. End-user behaviour of the live dashboard is described under HR Activity Dashboard.
Create Multiple Widgets wizard
From the widget list, use Create Multiple Widgets to open a wizard: pick several widget types at once, set default colour, access scope, duration, and column span, then create in one step. You can duplicate or adjust individual lines afterward.
How it works
The Activity Dashboard client view reads these settings and renders statistics, tables, and charts (employees, leaves, timesheets, tasks, departments, salary aggregates, etc.). Icon style may follow Advance HR Settings.
Step-by-step
- Open Configuration → Dashboard Widget Visibility.
- Add a line per widget, or launch the multi-create wizard.
- Set Sequence for left-to-top order.
- Restrict by Group or Employee if dashboards differ by audience.
- Open Dashboard from Advance HR to verify layout.

Field labels explained
Sequence
Lower numbers appear first in the dashboard layout—reorder when priorities change.
Widget
Selects the prebuilt statistic or chart implementation; each option maps to a data query in the backend.
Color / Label
Cosmetic; label overrides the default widget title for your audience.
Group / Employee
Fine-grained visibility: e.g. show sensitive salary widgets only to payroll groups.
User Group
Sometimes used to show different densities for managers vs staff.
Duration
Default filter for that widget’s data—users may still have global filters on the client.
Column
Responsive width so multiple widgets sit on one row on large screens.
Active
Disable seasonal widgets without losing configuration.
Common mistakes
- Too many heavy widgets slowing the dashboard—trim or narrow time ranges.
- Wrong user group seeing empty widgets because of group filters.
