Who can see what

Updated 11 June 2026

Two security levels: full administrators and everyday users with read-only “My attendance.”

Overview

eTimeOffice Administrator is aimed at HR or IT staff who configure credentials, run manual sync, open sync logs, maintain users, and see sensitive fields on employee cards. The group automatically includes high-level HR rights so they can reach employee records responsibly.

eTimeOffice User is for normal staff: they receive a top-level My Attendance menu entry that lists only rows tied to their own employee profile. They cannot change settings or other people’s punches.

How it works

Odoo hides the eTimeOffice fields on public employee profiles unless someone carries one of the two groups. Administrators see the full eTimeOffice menu tree (Configuration and Operations). Users see only the shortcut that jumps straight to their attendance list grouped by day.

Step-by-step guide

Fields table

Field explanations

Settings & credentials

Only eTimeOffice Administrator should open the integration block; everyday eTimeOffice User accounts never see those fields.

Manual sync wizard

Launching a date-range pull is an administrator power so bulk data cannot be triggered by casual staff.

Users & linking

Maintaining the eTimeOffice user list and the “link to employee” wizard stays with administrators so codes stay accurate.

All attendance rows

Administrators can search the whole company’s imported days; standard users only see rows tied to their own employee record.

Sync logs

History of each run (success, error, skipped) is visible from settings for administrators so they can prove when jobs ran.

Reset eTimeOffice link

Clearing a mistaken match on the employee form is limited to administrators so history is not broken by accident.

Employee form eTimeOffice fields

Both groups may see link-related fields where your policy allows, but only administrators can reset links or change sensitive pairing.

Tip: Give eTimeOffice User to managers only if policy allows them to see raw timestamps; otherwise keep them as administrators or use standard HR reports.
