Customer Note Experience in Cart

Updated 18 May 2026

Overview

In the self-order cart, each product line includes a “Special Instructions” area where customers can add notes. They can tap quick chips, select dietary tags, and type extra details in the text box when needed.

This mixed input style helps different types of users: some prefer one-tap options, while others need custom text. It improves order personalization while still keeping instructions structured and easy for staff to read.

How It Works

Customers tap any chip or tag to add it to the note text automatically. They can also type manually. The counter updates in real time and the total note is limited to 200 characters to keep requests concise.
