Overview
Advance Dashboard includes 70 pre-built sample dashboards covering 20 categories of Odoo apps. These are fully configured with widgets, charts, and layouts – so you can explore the app’s capabilities immediately without building from scratch. You can import all demos at once or pick specific categories like Sales, HR, or Inventory.
How It Works
Sample dashboards are loaded from Settings. When you import them, Odoo creates the dashboard records and all their widgets in your database. The widgets connect to your real Odoo data – so if you have sales orders, the Sales demo dashboard will show your actual numbers. Importing is safe to run multiple times: existing dashboards are kept, and only missing widgets are added.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Go to Settings – Click the gear icon on the Odoo home screen.
- Find Advance Dashboard Section – Scroll down or search for “Advance Dashboard” in Settings.
- Import All Demos – Click Import All Demo Data to load all 70 sample dashboards. Confirm when prompted.
- Or Import by Category – Select a specific app from the “Addon / Model” dropdown (e.g., Sales, HR, CRM) and click Import Selected Addon Demos.
- Wait for Completion – A success message appears when import is done. This may take a minute for all 70 dashboards.
- View the Dashboards – Go to Advance Dashboard → Overview. You will see all imported dashboards in the list.
- Open and Explore – Click any dashboard and press Open Dashboard to see it live with your data.
- Customise – Duplicate any sample dashboard and modify it to fit your needs (Managers only).

Field Explanations
Import All Demo Data
Loads all 70 sample dashboards across every category. Best for first-time exploration. Safe to run again — it will not delete or overwrite your existing dashboards.
Addon / Model Dropdown
Lets you pick one specific Odoo app category to import demos for. Use this when you only need Sales dashboards, for example, and do not want to load all 70.
Import Selected Addon Demos
Imports only the dashboards for the category you selected in the dropdown. Faster than importing everything when you know which app you need.
Tips
- Import demos after installing the related Odoo apps – a Sales demo needs the Sales app installed to show meaningful data.
- Use “Duplicate” on any sample dashboard to create your own version without affecting the original.
- Start with one category (e.g., Sales) to learn how widgets are configured, then explore others.
- Sample dashboards are a great learning tool – open a widget’s settings to see how it is built.
Common Mistakes
- Importing HR demos without the HR app installed – dashboards appear but widgets show zero or errors.
- Expecting demo data to include fake/sample records – demos use your real Odoo data, not fictional numbers.
- Editing sample dashboards directly – duplicate first so you always have the original as a reference.
- Running “Import All” on a slow server during business hours – import during off-peak times for large batches.
