Turning Accounting Pro features on

Updated 10 July 2026

Choose which extra invoice, payment, and bank fields your company sees – so screens stay simple until you need them.

Overview

Accounting Pro adds optional areas to Odoo: extra detail on invoice lines, an Other info area on invoices and bills, more fields on payments, and richer partner bank cards. Nothing appears until an administrator enables the matching switches in Settings → General Settings, under the Accounting Pro app block.

How it works

Each switch turns on a small set of related fields for users who have the right access in Odoo. Your IT partner maps those access groups to your finance, treasury, or operations roles. If a switch is off, the data still stored in the database from earlier use may remain, but the fields stay hidden on the form.

Step-by-step guide

Fields table

These are the on/off switches in Settings (they are not stored on invoices themselves).

Field explanations

Each row below matches one row in the table above, in the same order.

Quality & condition

When on, each invoice line can record quality status, quality checks, and a short condition code. Use it if QA or warehouse must sign off before revenue is recognized.

Storage & traceability

When on, lines can store source and destination stock locations, a storage-requirement profile (e.g. cold chain), and whether traceability is by batch or serial.

Regulatory & compliance

When on, lines can carry regulatory flags, country of origin, and attachments such as CoA or MSDS tied to that line for audits and customs.

Expiry & clearance

When on, lines support expiry dates, near-expiry discounts, shelf-life buckets, and a “forced clearance” flag so finance sees why price changed.

Returns & recalls

When on, lines can link to return/credit lines, a recall campaign, and a return-window end date for after-sales policy.

Operational planning

When on, lines include supply-chain priority and an optional “ATP after invoice” figure for planners and allocation discussions.

Customer & communication

When on, the invoice header gains communication profile, preferred channel, collection strategy, reminder exclusion, notes, and a bundled PO/contract reference.

Risk & credit

When on, the invoice header shows risk level and reason, credit-control status, and a fraud-check flag so credit and AR share one view.

Logistics & fulfillment

When on, the invoice header shows fulfillment priority, consolidation group code, and free-text delivery constraints for operations.

Settlement & routing (payments)

When on, payments include strategy, routing profile code, and batch group ID for treasury files and payment factories.

Risk & approval (payments)

When on, payments capture required approval level, numeric risk score, fraud-flag text, and policy outcome for controls and audits.

Fees & FX

When on, payments record fee model (SHA/OUR/BEN), bank and PSP fees, FX source and contract reference, and landed cost fields for true cost of cash.

Treasury

When on, payments can be tagged with treasury bucket, cash-flow label, and liquidity priority for forecasting and “which account to use” rules.

Payment compliance & KYC

When on, payments store sanctions result and reference, counterparty KYC/KYB status, and regulatory purpose codes for cross-border wires.

Vendor & customer experience

When on, payments support remittance template, communication channel for remittance, and structured vs free payment reference.

Customer payments

When on, inbound receipts gain source, collection channel, “collected by” user, advance/prepayment flag, and customer reference for AR and retail teams.

Automation & integration

When on, payments expose retry profile text and checkboxes for exported-to-bank, reconciled-with-confirmation, and pushed-to-external-ERP for hand-offs with IT.

Bank – Classification

When on, each partner bank shows usage type (payout, payroll, etc.) and whether the IBAN is primary, backup, or a country default.

Bank – Compliance & KYC

When on, each partner bank shows KYC status, how it was verified, verification date, and who verified it.

Bank – Risk & fraud

When on, each partner bank shows risk level, fraud-flag text, and a link or reference to IBAN change history.

Bank – Regulatory details

When on, each partner bank allows allowed purpose codes, beneficiary type, and regulatory country profile for compliance reviews.

Bank – Routing & operations

When on, each partner bank lists preferred rails, fee profile preference, cut-off time zone, remittance contact, invoice mapping text, and internal treasury/AP notes.

Load Accounting Pro Demo Data (button under the same Accounting Pro settings block, not a table row) creates or refreshes sample invoices, payments, and bank records so dashboards look populated in training. Safe to run multiple times on a test database; confirm with your manager before using it on production.
