This plugin lets you show different prices to different groups of customers – based on who they are (User Role) or where they are (Country). This chapter explains how both systems work.
User Role Pricing
WordPress assigns every registered customer a role. Common roles include Customer, Shop Manager, Subscriber, or custom roles like “Wholesale Buyer” created by role-management plugins. This plugin lets you tie pricing rules to specific roles.
How It Works
When you add a pricing row on a product (or in a global rule), there is a User Role field. You can:
- Leave it blank – the rule applies to all customers (visitors and logged-in users alike)
- Select one or more roles – the rule only applies to customers who have that role
Real Example: Retail vs Wholesale
| Min Qty | Max Qty | User Role | Discount | Who Sees It |
|---|---|---|---|---|
10 |
-1 |
(blank) |
10% off |
Every customer who orders 10+ |
5 |

Wholesale Buyer |
25% off |
Only logged-in Wholesale Buyers who order 5+ |

VIP Member |
Selling Price $38 |
Only VIP Members, starting from quantity 1 |
Visitors (not logged in): If a visitor is not logged in, they will see the pricing rules where User Role is blank. Logged-in customers see both the general rules AND any rules that match their specific role – the plugin shows the best matching rule.
How to Set Up User Roles
Make sure the role exists
WordPress comes with standard roles. To add custom roles like “Wholesale Buyer,” you need a plugin like User Role Editor or WooCommerce Wholesale Prices. Create and name your roles first.
Assign the role to customers
Go to Users → All Users, click a customer’s name, and change their Role using the dropdown. Click Update User to save.
Add a pricing row with that role selected
On the product edit page, click “Add New Price” and select the role in the User Role field. Fill in the quantity range and discount, then Update the product.
Country-Based Pricing
You can also show different prices to customers in different countries. The plugin detects the customer’s country from their billing address or shipping address in WooCommerce.
How It Works
When adding a pricing row, there is a Countries field. You can:
- Leave it blank – the rule applies to all countries
- Select one or more countries – the rule only applies to customers from those countries
Real Example: Regional Pricing
| Min Qty | Max Qty | Country | Price Type | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
10 |
-1 |
(all countries) |
Percentage |
10% |
10 |
-1 |
United States |

-1 |
United Kingdom |

Country pricing only works correctly when your WooCommerce store is set up with multiple currency support (e.g. using a currency switcher plugin). The plugin handles the pricing rule – currency display is handled by WooCommerce or a currency plugin.
Tips
- Always add a general rule (blank User Role, blank Country) as a fallback – this ensures every customer sees some pricing.
- Role-specific rules take priority over general rules when a logged-in customer qualifies for both.
- You can combine User Role AND Country in one row – e.g. “Wholesale Buyers in Germany get this special price.”
- Test your pricing by logging in as a test customer with the relevant role and checking what prices appear on the product page.
